CORE is the only national organization exclusively representing children’s homes and boarding schools providing residential (home-like) non-treatment related services to children living away from their families.
The Executive Director and CORE board members frequent Capitol Hill on a regular basis and provide representation of the needs of the CORE membership to legislators and their staff. In addition, the Executive Director is available to the membership through telephone and electronic communication.
Support services generated through the membership include camaraderie and networking of staff concerning issues of mutual interest, annual conferences, a forum to ask questions concerning policies and/or practices from other CORE members, information sharing, resources and technical assistance. The organization also recognizes and honors staff and alumni in several categories on an annual basis.
